Who I Am

Hello there! My name is Britt Alex, I am 21 years old and I live in Gilbert, Arizona.
I want you to get to know me, just as much as I know myself, so we will start with the most important things first!
I am a Seventh-Day Adventist and my relationship with God is very important to me. I grew up SDA but I would say it wasn't until about a year ago until I could truly say I trusted and had a relationship with God. Life is crazy, and one thing I learned in the last year and a half is that I need to believe in God's timing and that He has a perfect plan for me. Stressing is a waste of time when you have God on your side. Everything I am and the things I have done, I owe it all to Him.

"Always pray to have eyes that see the best in people, a heart that forgives the worst, a mind that forgets the bad, and a soul that never loses faith in God."

I have a passion for fashion, make up, crafts, hair, cooking, baking, photography and a lot of of other artsy things.

Through this blog I will share my life, whole heartedly (get it, life in hearts?). I live each day with my whole heart. Everything I love, everything that makes me who I am, is a piece of my heart in which adds up to be my whole heart, my whole being. That includes things I love to do and things that make my day-to-day life more exciting!

This is my fiancé, Andrew!
We got engaged on March, 3, 2013 and we have been together for over 4 years now! Fun Fact: I have known him since I was three! He was the neighbor across the street and we have so many memories playing baseball out front together or using a spy camera to spy on others. Here is a photo of us then and now (he surprised me for our 4 year anniversary with outfits and the coordination to recreate this photo of when we were younger!).

Our wedding date is November 24, 2013 and we couldn't be more ecstatic!

We have an amazing dog, Eko, who makes us smile everyday!

Q & A

Where are you from?
I am from Cle Elum, Washington originally. I was born in Bellevue, Washington but have lived in Arizona since I was three! I still consider Washington home!

What made you start writing a blog?

I really admire a lot of people who write blogs. Some of my most influential people are people I found on the internet through Pinterest and I started reading there blogs and got hooked. I truly admire these people and they've definitely impacted my life! It was always something I wanted to do but I didn't feel really compelled until I started my "365 days of writing Ellen" (Ellen Degeneres that is!) and realized that writing was really therapeutic.

What are your goals with this blog?
My goals are really to just have somewhere all my thoughts, ideas, crafts, special moments in life are all compiled into one place. I also want to touch peoples lives, make a difference by telling my story of what I have been through, my hardships, my rock bottom, and tell people you can always turn your life around. All it takes is the will to want to change.

What do you and your fiancé do for a living?
Let's start with what I do! I work for my dad, he has his own practice in Mesa.. I am the admin assistant, office manager, personal assistant and now I also do the billing for the office!
Andrew is a mortgage banker working for People's Mortgage. He is also a crossfit instructor at Crossfit Preferred! He was a professional golfer for about a year and a half, but has recently just been focusing on loans and crossfit!

Who has made the biggest impact in your life?
I would definitely have to give that honor to my wonderful Grandma! I have such a huge amount of love for who she is and what she has done in her life. She is the one person I can honestly say is the most caring person I know. I could go on and on about how amazing I think she is but the list is so long, I don't know if this blog has room! Through her love, I have learned how to unconditionally love somebody. She is also the person to give me the crafty gene, which makes up a huge part of who I am!

What is your greatest accomplishment?
My greatest accomplishment is when one of my photos I took won the Congressional award for my district in Arizona and the photo hung at the U.S. Capitol in Washington DC for a whole year!

What does "Life in Hearts" mean?
First off, I love hearts. It is kind of my thing (you know...everybody has a "thing"). I believe living life in hearts means living life whole heartedly. Full of passion. When you pour your whole heart into something, you give it everything you've got. In life we have multiple passions, multiple things that drive us, make us who we are, and give us life. This is a blog about the little hearts that make up the big heart inside of me. The heart that is living for God.

What is your biggest dream in life?
My biggest aspiration would be to be the best person I can be. That I can share my love for God and make people see what God can do when He is in full control of somebody's life. I want to be the best wife, mom, aunt, friend that is possible for one lifetime. I will always strive to do the right thing and to make an impact in somebody's life for the better.

What are your favorite words to live by?
There are so many. I read so many great passages and quotes everyday. I think one that will always stick with me the most is one my Grandma told me, "Grow where you are planted".
