The One With the First Month

In February our little girl turned one month old! // I obviously am a little bit behind on posts but trust me I have reasons! I just wanted to do a little post on this blessing of a girl! \\

Wow! This first month has gone by quickly! It has been such a blessing watching you grow. I think one of the things that I will never forget about you and your first month is the cute sucking noise you make when you drink a bottle. Here is a video of it!

There is absolutely nothing I enjoy more than spending time with you. You are my best friend. I have had some troubles taking care of you in these first four weeks. I've done fairly good but I haven't been at my best because of my health. // I will explain more on that in another post. \\ It definitely makes me happy when I am able to take care of you by myself! Here are some photos we took of you!

This was after we came home from the hospital watching the Seahawks in the Super Bowl!

Your first night at home!

First time in your Mamaroo!

You love sleeping with daddy!

First shopping trip a day after you were born to buy buy baby. We had to get a few things for you!

This is after your first bath!

Here you are at your first check up with Dr. Curran!

You sleep just like daddy!

In your first week of life, we celebrated mommy's 23rd birthday together! You stole the show but I was okay with that! On that same day we went to Mark's grave and put some flowers down like we do every year.

A smile I caught while you were sleeping!

Little back story to this... You never latched to be able to breastfeed, but I wanted you to get the breast milk. So I started pumping two days after I had you, and I worked really hard at it. Every feeding I would pump and I would feed you what I pumped. It took way longer than a normal feeding would because I had to do double the work. But it was totally worth it. This is a photo your Aunt Bailey snapped because she thought it looked hilarious. It might have, but again all worth it!

This was at mommy's two week check up! You got to meet the doctor who took care of you the whole time you were in mommy's belly! He had to take extra care of you!

This is the doctor who delivered you and this is the ultrasound tech that took many many photos of you in mommy's belly

You often eat your food with your hands under your chin!

First rainy day, besides the day you were born!

This is your favorite way to be held. Yes, it looks like I don't know how to hold a baby, but I promise you, you love this position and you would fall asleep within a minute or two. Not to mention I could get some things done with my free hand!

\\ O N E  M O N T H // Our little Anderson Layne now weighs 9lbs 2 ounces and is 22.3 inches long. You sleep all night except for waking up for one feeding and have been a great sleeper since birth! You did have your days and nights confused for a few days, but mommy and daddy fixed that! The most we have gotten up in the middle of the night was twice! Dad and Mom are new at this, so there are times where we feel as if we have no idea what we are doing, but you reassure us that what we are doing works for you! You love to eat and you make the sweetest kissy noise while sucking on your bottle. I often catch you staring at lights and it makes your eyes sparkle even more than they already do! Snuggling with your mom and dad is your favorite thing to do. We were blessed with an angel baby! You only cry when hungry, naked & cold after a bath, and when mom tries to get boogers out of your nose. You take after mom and are a little fashionista already; you purposely have blow outs so you can have 2-3 outfit changes a day! Most of all, you bring so much joy to Daddy and Mommy's life. We can't remember what life was like before you! It must of been so empty! We are looking forward to a lifetime of wonderful memories, smiles and laughter. Our world changed for the better when we found out we were going to be parents to you!

I know I will tell you how difficult the pregnancy was with you, and how many things went wrong with the pregnancy/labor, but I will always make sure to reassure you that every worry, every tear, every fear; was so worth it. You defied the odds, you're a fighter. I will always encourage you to remember that even if your odds are 1/5, you have no reason to believe you won't be those other 4. Thanks for being our little miracle and making us two happy, proud parents! We love you more Anderson Layne Augustyniak!!!
