Wedding Invitations

Picking a wedding invitation is just as hard or harder as picking a save the date. Being a perfectionist, it had to be a perfect fit. It had to look exactly how I wanted it, had to be crafty and it had to be different. The invitation is probably one of the most pressured thing about the wedding, because it has to be done without error as well as arrive in the suggested time frame. With my wedding planning process, I really felt I would take a step forward and shortly after, two steps back. I had to remind myself often to just keep swimming, don't give up Brittany, this is what you've always wanted! The biggest step back was with these invitations. The invitations were perfect, everything looked amazing...so I thought! Andrew and I had spent a whole weekend assembling all the pieces, and we were so pleased with the outcome. We couldn't wait to send them out! "Not so fast George Banks!" To our lovely surprise, the main part of the invitation said Saturday the 24th of November, when it was supposed to be Sunday the 24th of November. With not much time left until I had to have the invites out; we had to get it fixed, re-printed, invitations taken apart, then put back together with the correct invite. It was such a stressful few days, but it worked out, like things always do! There can be a lesson to learn here (to not only re-read the invitations yourself before print but also have multiple people proof it) but in all reality, things like this will happen during wedding planning, and you just have to go with it. Don't have a melt down, or freak out, // well, maybe a little bit if that makes you feel better // but remember to pick yourself back up, you will be come victorious and your wedding will be absolutely perfect. People might tell you, don't let the little things stress you, but I say do what you do. Each stressful moment was worth it. The late nights staying up to create my dream wedding was 110% worth it. Every second put into it was worth it! If it seems too hard or impossible, just keep plugging away at it. I promise you...

IT. IS. WORTH. IT.

// As you can see it says Saturday not Sunday. \\

Now that's better!

  1. I absolutely love your invites! Good for you for getting through that date fiasco with a positive attitude :)! Just curious, I am contemplating ordering some of the same as I am having a shabby chic outdoor wedding this summer and these would be perfect. Once you received the file did you just take it to Office Max to get printed? Was this the cheapest place you found? Just curious as I am trying to save money with the DIY route! Thanks for any advice you can give and congrats on your wedding!

    1. Hello Krista!

Nice to meet you! Thank you so much! I am so glad you love them, I do too! I did just take it to Office Max to get it printed. There is a location right by my house and it was so convenient. I didn't look into too many other options for printing because I knew the guy who worked at Office Max, he was a perfectionist like me, and I trusted them to be done by him. Also, they cut them all for me which saved a lot of time. A option that COULD be cheaper is to print them at home yourself, but I am not positive if it would be cheaper or not because you would probably have to buy a few cartridges and those would get pricey. I ordered about 175/200 (can't remember for sure how many) and it cost me about $250. I DO know that if you pay to have somebody on Etsy print it, $250 is much cheaper than $750 that they would charge. With Office Max if you have Max Perks or coupons you can use those which could take off more money for you! If you have any other questions on anything let me know! I would be more than happy to help you, I know how much I would of liked even more help while I was planning for my wedding!

  2. I love these invitations!!! I have not ordered any yet as i am still deciding. When you ordered the invitations did they come already printed up or did you just get a file and have to print them yourself? If so did they supply the paper?

  3. Thank you Ashley! For these I got a file and I printed them at Office Max. It was the cost efficient way I found! I bought the paper myself from paper source and brought it with me to Office Max to have them print it on there. I hope that helps your decision making! It is tough having so many things to decide on and think about! Good luck! Let me know if you have any more questions, I would love to help!
